The Actual Outputs were:

A one day Planning Workshop with 40 participants from 25 institutes was hosted at the Centre for Land Use and Water Resources Research at the University of Newcastle.

It included:

Briefing sessions on, NR research by DFID, Land/Water Interface production system by Newcastle University.

Discussion groups on: The Coastal Zone and floodplain purposes of the production system.

The five geographic foci, Bangladesh, Brazil, Caribbean, Ghana and India.

CONCLUSIONS:

The workshop was an important contribution towards achieving the aim of making most effective use of available UK expertise in support of NRSP goal.

To brief potential research contractors on the Land/Water Interface research portfolio and the method of implementation

|To assist in the development of a carefully targeted portfolio of systems-based research, and involve participants in the process of identifying and prioritising researchable constraints in the relevant production systems.
