| | Description | DIPNET is a European RTD project addressing disease interactions and pathogen exchange between wild and farmed aquatic animal populations. Farming of new species and expansion of aquaculture into new regions is associated with changes of the aquatic ecosystems. With wild fish and shellfish in close contact with their farmed cousins, the potential for exchange of pathogens is inevitable and raises important issues relating to its control.
