Setting
up a List Archive
Only
the Chief Editor can set up a Mailing List Archive (MLA) in oneFish.
If you would like to archive an online mailing list/discussion in oneFish,
please contact the Chief Editor: onefish@fao.org
Elements
of a Mailing List Archive
External
Mailing List Archives require three elements:
External
Mailing Lists / Discussion
A wide range of organizations, networks and groups set up and maintain
online mailing lists / discussion either on their own web servers, or
using a prescribed search engine such as Yahoo! Some of these lists
also have online archives, but some do not. Some lists are moderated,
some are not. Frequently access to a list requires you to be a member
of a specific organization, network or group. All of these lists can
be archived in oneFish, providing they are relevant to the scope of
oneFish and that the permission of the list owner has been granted.
Mailbox
(oneFish email address)
To capture the postings to an external online mailing/discussion list
for archiving in oneFish, a mailbox has to be set up external to oneFish.
This mailbox is created on the FAO site. This mailbox (email address) must then be subscribed
to the mailing list / discussion according to the guidelines of that specific
list.
Mailing List Archive in oneFish
Once the mailbox has been set up, a Discussion KO is created in oneFish to host the Mailing List Archive:
