The CD ROM is primarily provided for users who have slow, intermittent or prohibitively expensive internet access, so that they can browse the knowledge offline, before connecting to the internet or sending for items via email. The CD ROM replicates the Marine and Coastal Fisheries worldview and includes all topics, sub-topics and knowledge objects (excluding ephemeral objects such as news, events and jobs), and documents and files uploaded to the oneFish database. The CD ROM includes an introductory screen, help files, and a questionnaire in both English and French, and the interface is also in both languages. This first CD ROM is a prototype, and as such only a limited number of copies have been produced.
